Newberry County Councilman and retired USAF Col. Scott Cain will discuss U.S. Air Force relations in the Middle East (2003-2007) at a lecture on Tuesday, April 10, at 2 p.m., in Kohn Lecture Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public. Councilman Cain’s story begins in rural South Carolina and crosses the globe. A decorated combat pilot, Cain was the Air Force Command’s senior advisor to the Middle East from 2003-2007, where he helped establish the first Air Force Center of Excellence training center in the region. Cain will share his experiences coordinating training efforts between various governments across the Middle East and discuss the political and leadership challenges that accompanied those efforts.
