Phillips Named Dean of Enrollment Management

Delsie Z. Phillips has been appointed Dean of Enrollment Management at Newberry College. She joins Newberry after serving as an independent consultant for higher education, with R/N/R Education Consulting, Inc. in Delray Beach, Fla.
Phillips has over 25 years of experience working in enrollment management, including dean of admission and financial aid at Haverford College in Haverford, Pennsylvania, and vice president for enrollment management at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla. At both Lynn and Haverford she modernized and reorganized the admission operation, adding technology and sophisticated marketing strategies. Most recently at Lynn University her team increased applications 31% from 2009 to 2012; she also invigorated recruitment for graduate programs and increased graduate applications by at least 50% in all programs.
In 2010, Phillips began working as an independent consultant in enrollment management for higher education at R/N/R Education Consulting, Inc. She provided staff development and training, marketing support, international recruitment planning and organizational and strategy review for institutions including, Spelman College, MidAmerica Nazarene University and the University of New Orleans.
She has served on many professional association committees, like The College Board, European Council of International Schools: College Committee (US) and presented at many, major conferences throughout her career.
Phillips earned her bachelors degree in sociology from Clark University in Worcester, Mass. She later earned a masters degree in student personal services, higher education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pa.
