Newberry College Organization to Host Lecture Events Trending Success; Guest Speakers to Include Loc

NEWBERRY, S.C. Newberry Colleges student business organization, Phi Beta Lambda, with the Department of Business, Behavioral and Social Sciences and the Office of Career Services present Trending Success: Navigating the New Economy lectures on September 12-15. These lectures will be presented by a local businessman and other experts in their respected field. Newberry College students will also lead a panel discussion during one lecture.

The lectures will begin with Bookbags to Briefcases on Monday, September 12, at 10 a.m. in the West Recital Hall of the Alumni Music Center, with guest speaker Michelle Brookshire, a Talent Coordinator for Verizon Wireless.

The second lecture will be held in Kohn Lecture Hall of the Science and Math Building, on Tuesday, September 13, at 2 p.m. with Choosing the Right Career: Employer Expectations presented by Dr. Sam Kirkpatrick, General Manager of Caterpillar in Newberry, S.C.

The third session will be held in the West Recital Hall of the Alumni Music Center on Wednesday, September 14, at 2 p.m. This lecture will include a panel discussion of Newberry College students, discussing their summer internship experiences.

The final lectures will be held on Thursday, September 15, at 10:50 a.m. and a repeat session at 1:40 p.m. in the West Recital Hall of the Alumni Music Center. Getting Hired: A corporate view of the talent acquisition process will be presented by Amy Lack, a Talent Acquisition Manager for Enterprise, Inc.
