Newberry College Hosts Senior Executive in Employee Relations for Alumni Speaker Series

Newberry College alumna Jodie Irvin ‘96 will describe her career journey from her undergraduate experience at Newberry College to her professional career as Senior Vice President, Employee Relations Executive, Bank of America Corporation. Irvin will share her experiences as a presenter for the Newberry College Alumni Speaker Series on Monday, April 11, at 7 p.m., in the Alumni Music Center Recital Hall.

Joining Bank of America in 2006, Jodi Irvin is currently an Employee Relations Executive for the Retail and Preferred and Small Business Lines of Business within the Consumer Bank.  In this role, Irvin partners with Human Resources and Line of Business leaders to manage and resolve identified risks and identify and mitigate emerging risks while balancing the needs of employees and managers.  Previous to this role, Irvin was a Human Resources Executive in the Bank’s Banking Center Channel West Region which is comprised of over 1500 banking centers and 15,000 associates. In this role, she was part of the region’s leadership team to drive HR strategy and execution. 

Prior to the bank, Irvin was with Honeywell International as a HR Manager in the Aerospace Division.  In this role, she was responsible for the human resources function for various organizations including Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, Marketing and Product Management and Six Sigma.  In addition, Irvin has held various human resources roles with International Paper in Savannah, GA and Eastover, SC as well as ExxonMobil in Houston, TX.

A native of Lexington, SC, Irvin earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Newberry College and her master’s degree in Human Resources from the University of South Carolina.  She also received a certificate in Global Human Resources from the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management in Glendale, AZ and is Six Sigma Greenbelt certified.  

Irvin is co-executive sponsor of the Bank’s San Antonio-Austin LEAD (Leadership, Education, Advocacy and Development) for Women Employee Network. She also serves on the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County Women’s Leadership Council Advisory Board where she co-chairs the Impact Committee. Irvin lives in San Antonio, TX with her husband, Lt. Col. Bill Irvin, active duty US Air Force, and two children, Will and Carson.
