Newberry College Accepting Bids for Summer Renovation Projects

Newberry College will be accepting bids for two renovation projects for existing campus housing. Projects include cosmetic renovations to four residence halls, roof repairs on one residence hall and complete reroofing on one residence hall. All projects will be completed over the summer prior to students returning to campus in August for fall semester.
#1 - RESIDENCE HALL LIMITED RENOVATIONS
Newberry College is accepting bids for limited cosmetic renovations on Cromer Hall, Derrick Hall, Kinard Hall and Smeltzer Hall, the four residence halls surrounding the campus quad. This renovation will include:
- Replacement of ceiling tile
- Painting
- Replacement of flooring (carpet, VLT, VCT)
#2 – REROOFING OF RESIDENCE HALL
Newberry College is accepting bids for roof replacement on Derrick Hall and roof repairs on Cromer Hall. This project will include:
- Complete reroofing with architectural shingles to Derrick Hall
- Repairs to dormers of Derrick Hall
- Painting of fire escape of Derrick Hall
- Significant patch work (built-up) to Cromer Hall
Eligible contractors must have a valid South Carolina contracting license, be in good standing with the State of South Carolina and carry a minimum of $2 million aggregate insurance coverage. For the roofing project, the contractor must be a certified roofer and be able to provide references. For both projects, the contractor must be staffed to complete assigned work within 52 working days beginning on May 19, 2017.
Interested parties should email qualifications and proof of insurance no later than May 10 to Fred Errigo, Director of Physical Plant, at fred.errigo@newberry.edu. Physical Plant will do a walk-through for both projects for interested contractors on Thursday, May 11, at 9 a.m.
