Dufford Diversity Week Planned for October 27-31.

The 2014 Dufford Diversity week will be held on October 27 - October 31. Recently, members of the Newberry College Dufford Diversity Week Committee invited Hispanic leaders from the surrounding areas to the Newberry College campus for an informal discussion and brainstorming session on ideas for community engagement, outreach, and potential Hispanic partnerships.
The committee has chosen Justin Machado '02, to be the keynote speaker. He is an Emmy Award winner and senior producer for special projects at BOUNCE TV in Marietta, Ga. BOUNCE TV is the first African American broadcast network, featuring a programming mix of theatrical motion pictures, sporting events, documentaries, specials, inspirational faith-based programs, off-network series, and original programming. BOUNCE TVs founders include Martin Luther King III and Ambassador Andrew Young.
In addition, as part of Dufford Diversity week, Mr. Machado will be the guest speaker for the Minority Breakfast to be held on the morning of October 31st.
Dufford Diversity Week is an event held in honor of Dr. William Bill Dufford who is a supporter, educator, and advocate for diversity education. Newberry College looks forward to integrating college activities with the Latino community on and off campus as this partnership continues to grow.
