Accompanist for voice and choirs
Mrs. Elisabeth Ramirez serves as the accompanist for the voice studio of Newberry College’s Department of Music, and for NC Singers and Madrigals. As a collaborative pianist, she won numerous prizes in Youth Competitions at the state and national level in Germany, her native country. Mrs. Ramirez studied at University of Music and Performing Arts in Mannheim with Prof. Ulrich Eisenlohr, emphasizing vocal and instrumental piano accompaniment. She has performed in many recitals and concerts with singers, instrumentalists, and ensembles in a broad repertoire in art songs, oratorio, and opera, as well as diverse chamber music from the Baroque Period to contemporary. She also worked as accompanist for several choir formations in Germany, including continuo playing. In addition to her piano skills, Mrs. Ramirez is also an accomplished violinist. In Germany, she was a violinist with the Symphony Orchestra of Kaiserslautern for over 25 years, and participated in several chamber orchestras and smaller ensembles, also. Since moving to Newberry in 2015, she has been a member of the Newberry Chamber Orchestra, teaches private lessons in piano and violin, and is organist at AR Presbyterian Church.
