Bio:

Leighton received his B.A. from Wofford College in Sociology, Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina, and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in South Carolina. His MBA was focused in accounting.

 

Prior to coming to Newberry College in 2002, Leighton was an accounting instructor at Central Carolina for ten years. Leighton has also obtained accounting and auditing experience in the private sector as well as the county, state, and federal levels. Leighton has taught a variety of courses within the business curriculum at Newberry College. He was tenured in 2009 and currently teaches accounting and finance courses. He served as Department Chair of the Department of Business Administration from 2006-2010 and was on Faculty Council from 2007-2009.
