Bret Clark

Dr. Clark began teaching at Newberry College in 1995, following completion of his doctorate degree in Microbiology at the Medical College of Georgia. At MCG, his research focused on Staphylococcus aureus and its role in osteomyelitis, or bone infection. Along with the responsibility of teaching General Biology and Microbiology at Newberry, Dr. Clark also developed courses in Immunology and Virology that have been added to the Biology curriculum at Newberry College during his tenure.
Dr. Clark has received several campus teaching awards, including the Boyd Professorship for Teaching Excellence (2007 and 2010), NCSGA Professor of the Year (1997 and 2010), and the W.C. "Billy" Carter Professorship in the Liberal Arts and Sciences (2001-2004).
He lives in Newberry with his wife Sharah, his son Bailey, and his daughter Jordyn.
